What materials are your prints made from?
Every canvas is crafted with a premium cotton–polyester blend and a proprietary coating that ensures vibrant, long-lasting color. We use UL certified Greenguard Gold inks for safe and eco-friendly printing. Canvases are stretched on responsibly sourced pinewood frames from FSC certified forests. Rubber dots on the back corners keep your artwork stable when hung.
Do you offer framing?
Yes. Our framed options use sustainably sourced pinewood in multiple finishes to complement your space. Each frame comes ready to hang with sawtooth hardware already attached.
Do you offer custom requests?
Yes. We are always open to reviewing custom projects and can often accommodate them for the same price. If you would like a unique variation, layout, or additional personalization beyond what is offered on the product page, contact us and we will be happy to work with you. Some requests require additional time and may need a custom quote depending on the scope of work.

How accurate are the maps?
We use publicly available lake and bathymetric data to ensure each design is rooted in real geographic information. However, our pieces are artistically refined to balance accuracy and aesthetics — they’re meant to look beautiful, not technical.
When data is missing or limited, we may research or interpret the lake’s form to maintain the integrity and visual balance of the artwork. Coordinates are typically based on the commonly accepted center point of the lake.
Can I see a proof before printing?
Yes. Every order includes a detailed digital proof before printing begins — your opportunity to ensure every detail feels right, from the lake’s contours and coordinates to the overall composition.
Once approved, your artwork moves to production. If you ever have a concern about your piece, our team will work with you to ensure it meets the Lake Theory standard of quality and care.
Shipping
Where do you ship?
We currently ship within the continental United States. If you live outside this area, please reach out and we can explore custom shipping options. We’re always happy to see how we can make your order work.
How much does shipping cost?
Shipping is always free with no hidden fees.
How long will it take to receive my order?
Most proofs are ready within 2–3 business days. Occasionally, if public data is missing or requires refinement, the proofing process may take a little longer — we’ll always let you know if that’s the case.
Once approved, your artwork moves into production, which typically takes another 2–3 business days before shipping.
Do you offer rush shipping?
At this time we do not offer expedited shipping.
Returns & Replacements
What is your return policy?
Because each piece is custom-made and personalized with your approved details, we can’t accept returns for reasons such as change of mind or post-approval edits.
However, if your artwork arrives damaged or contains a production error, we’ll replace it right away. Every order is created with care, and your satisfaction is always our priority.
What if my order arrives damaged or incorrect?
Contact us within 30 days of delivery with photos of the issue. We’ll send a replacement at no extra charge.
Can I change my order after it’s placed?
All personalization details are reviewed and approved by you before production begins. During this review process, you have the opportunity to make any changes needed. Once your proof is approved, the order moves into production and can no longer be changed.

Every Lake Theory order includes a digital proof before printing — your chance to review every detail and request refinements until it feels just right.
